Trunk or Treat is a holiday that we celebrate here at Roeper. Its where people go trunk-to-trunk getting candy!! Everyone loves that…well, except parents, they don’t like candy. I learned that the hard way! All of the trunks have a spooky theme inside so be ready because for a spook and don’t forget a costume. I hope you are in the Trunk or Treat spirit. I hope you have fun and hang out with friends!!!
Elise Witt, a Stage IV student is sponsoring Treats for Troops at Roeper. Treats for Troops is a program run by Soldiers’ Angels that collects leftover Halloween candy and sends it off to deployed service members and veterans. She is doing this at Roeper because deployed service members are far away from home so they don’t get much candy so this gives them a taste of home. If you have any candy that you don’t want or can’t have, take it to a bin in the front of the CCB starting this Monday, October 31. If you make a donation of candy to the Treats-for-Troops program, you can pick out a book of your choice for free from the selection of books near the candy collection bin in the CCB! The bin will be out until November eleventh. If you donate candy, it cannot be opened or baked like a muffin or cookie. Nothing homemade either. If you have any questions, please email her at Elise.Witt@roeper.org.
DO NOT TAKE ANY CANDY FROM THE BIN!!! SOME KIDS HAVE TAKEN FROM THE BIN. IT IS NOT FOR YOU TO TAKE AND/OR EAT!!!
Hi, I am Brooklyn. My dad is on the committee for Roeper Trunk-or-Treat, so I know all the secrets about Trunk or Treat and I will tell you three.
1. One of the three crafts is Halloween charm bracelets
2. Every car will be one space away so be quick on your feet
3. Last but not least there will be a fun photo booth!
What is trunk or treat?
Trunk or treat is like trick or treat but in people trunks and you get candy. The cars are all parked in the Roeper Lower School parking lot. This will be on Saturday, Oct. 29th, from 1:00-3:00. To RSVP, go to https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showRSVPSignUp/30E0E44ADAA23A6FF2-roeper It is too late to have your trunk out, but you can still trunk or treat!
If you’re looking to really get in the Halloween spirit, try out a Halloween event! Trunk or Treat is very popular. It is where you go Trick-or-Treating at people’s cars in a parking lot. They decorate the trunks of their cars and give out candy like regular Trick-or-Treating. Below is a list of places where you can go Trunk-or-Treating.

First off, Day of the Dead and Halloween are on two dates. Halloween and Day of the Dead are about two different things. Halloween is about costumes and going trick-or-treating and going door to door. If the light is not on at some ones house that means they are not giving out candy. Day of the Dead is about celebrating loved ones that have passed away by creating altars and making yummy food to bring to the altar.

Do you have guts? If so I want you to get into the Halloween spirit by watching some of these movies. For Stage I and II, I suggest The Nightmare Before Christmas, rated PG. For Stage III, Under Wraps 1 and 2. For Stage IV, Hocus Pocus 1 and 2. These can all be found on Disney Plus!
Are you excited for Halloween well … I am it is so much fun! Did you know that 81 percent of parents have admitted that they have stolen some of their child’s candy??? This is outrageous so I am going to show you a few ways to hide your candy and teach you about Halloween. A lot of people believe that Halloween was developed from the ancient Celtics harvest festival called Samhain (pronounced sow-win) this day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the start of winter they also believed this was when the barrier between the alive and the fallen were at its weakest. Okay now I will teach you about how to hide your candy one way is to fill your pillow case with candy. If you have a plastic trashcan in your room take the trash bag out clean it with wipes or a rag and dump your candy in.
We sampled a few classes on some of their favorite candies and the candy that came in first was… Skittles 2nd was Starburst and 3rd was M&Ms!!!
