the Rainbow Alliance is a school club that talks about Pride (LGBTQ+ stuff) in the school library. Carmen, Paula, and Jenn are the teachers who manage the club sometimes we read Pride books, and sometimes we just hang out. we also do activities and learn. and at the end of the meetings, we put little pieces of paper with questions on them into a box. it’s a really fun club, I really recommend it for stg. IVers. it happens on B days during lunch. Rainbow Alliance is for members of the LGBTQ+ community or people who just want to learn about pride. The first meeting will be Thursday Oct. 12.

These are books that people have tried to ban in libraries for years. Don’t be afraid to read these!

Islam is the world’s second biggest religion after Christianity. Muslims are followers of Islam. This year, Ramadan is April 1 through May 1, but it can happen during any season because it is based on the 9-month lunar calendar. Ramadan is a whole month in the Muslim calendar. It celebrates when the prophet Muhammed received the words of Allah that became the Quran, the Muslim holy book. During Ramadan, Muslims fast, pray, and read the Quran. Fasting for Ramadan means not eating any food or drinking anything during the day. In the evening, after sundown, families gather to break their fast by eating a meal called Iftar. At the end of Ramadan is a big celebration called Eid al-Fitr, which is a three-day festival including new clothes, sweets, delicious foods, and gifts.
