Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu

by Jonathan S.

Most Pikachu Pokémon cards say that it is a basic. Pikachu actually evolved from Pichu. Pikachu evolved into Raichu. Pichu’s ears are large, flat and triangular. Pikachu’s ears are more straight. Raichu has curly ears. Also Raichu doesn’t have any fingers. Pikachu has five fingers and Pichu’s fingers are like mittens. Pichu’s tail is black and angled. Pikachu’s tail is shaped like a lightning bolt. Raichu’s tail is long and has a lightning bolt at the end.

Pichu is a really light yellow, Pikachu is a slightly darker yellow, and Raichu is a light orange. Pichu’s cheeks are pink, Pikachu’s cheeks are red, and Raichu’s cheeks are yellow.

Cat Galligan is a new teacher at Roeper. She teaches in Lori & Cat’s class in Stage III. She went to school for material engineering, which is deciding which material is the best for something. She worked in the Makerspace at the Baldwin Library in Birmingham. Cat went to Roeper when she was a kid. She wanted to work here because she liked going here.

In her free time she likes doing art and video games. She has a cat named Juno. Her favorite animal is a leopard. Her favorite color is black and her favorite food is mac and cheese.

The first two story 3D printed house.

by jonathan s.

The first 2-story 3D printed house is being created in Houston, Texas. Three businesses called PERI-3D, HANNAH, and CIVE are working together to make the first 2-story 3D printed house. Using a 3D printer, instead of using plastic it uses concrete to print the house. Then they put in the doors and windows and stuff.

They want to bring them to people who need them, like people who are homeless. They cannot currently make them for homeless people because it’s way too expensive. Printers will improve and make it easier and cheaper to make 3D printed houses one day. They are stronger than wooden houses, but definitely can not survive an earthquake.

A close shot of the massive 3D printer squirting out concrete.

The News Of The Author Visit.

by jonathan s.

Philip Stead is going to do an author visit at the Lower School on March 1st. It’s for all the stages. He is an author of many picture books like A Sick Day for Amos McGee and Amos McGee Misses the Bus that were illustrated by his wife, Erin. They won the Caldecott for A Sick Day for Amos McGee. He is coming to Roeper because it’s Reading Month. We don’t know yet where the assembly is going to be. They work in a barn that’s over 100 years old that they renovated in Ann Arbor. They have a horseshoe on the wall for luck.
