Slek’n’g

Evan R., SJ V., Liam C., and Krishna E. of Stage III and Grant S. in Stage II and Evan’s dad Kevin R. 49 years old have started a band called Slek’n’g (Sleck in gee). Evan is the drummer/singer. SJ is also a singer. Liam is the guitar player with Kevin. Krishna and Grant are on electric keyboard. Slek’n’g’s performed “Where It’s At” by Beck at the talent show at Roeper School in March.

The band likes to do practice at Kevin and Evan’s house because they have all the instruments that are needed and more.

The reason Slek’n’g started is because they love MUSIC. They believe that music has healing powers for the soul. Shoutout to Kevin for providing everything we could want and more! Slek’n’g is actually working on their first song “Burning Rain” right now.

Twenty One Pilots New Music

After two years, twenty one pilots has finally released new music. They released a video called I Am Clancy on February 22 that explained most of twenty one pilots lore, and also added a sneak peak of the new song, Overcompensate. Then A week later, they released the full song, Which within 4 hours, had a million views, and is currently gaining 1.1 million views a day. The entire album will be released on May 17, and is expected to have at least 3 more music videos.

The Beatles: Now And Then

The song “Now And Then” was released on Friday, November 3rd. (Insert sentence about who the song is by.) The writer of the song, John Lennon, died 40 years ago. The song was created around 45 years ago. the new song is one of the best Beatles songs there are.

Ringo Starr (the drummer of the Beatles) was talking to Yoko Ono (John Lennon’s wife) and Yoko said that she had some recordings of John. In 1995, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison created “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love.” they were going to do “now and then” but the piano blocked out most of John Lennon’s voice and they didn’t have the technology to quiet the piano. but then in 2022, they had the tech to get rid of the piano.

You wanted the best, you got the best! The hottest band in the world is coming to Detroit!

Kiss is a sensational rock band that has changed the entire course of music forever. In the mid 80’s and early 90’s a new genre of music was introduced. Previously, other types of rock had been introduced like classic and soft rock were in the late 60’s and the 70’s but this type was different. It was all about head-bangers and rebelling. These included punk and hard rock. Later on though, these rock artists would protest through their lyrics. This was one of the things that started the civil rights movement. Anyway, Kiss will be coming to the Little Caeser’s Arena on October 20th. The band members are: Paul Stanley a.k.a. Star Child, Gene Simmons a.k.a. The Demon, Tommy Thayer a.k.a. Space Ace and Eric Singer a.k.a. Catman.

A visible world tour!

There are going to be some local artists going on world tour and they are going lots of different performers. They are going lots of places like Senegal and Ethiopia. The group is called the INVISIBLES. The people they are performing with are artists from over the WORLD. The lead artist is named DJ INVISIBLE and he does world tours all the time! He just toured Amsterdam with SNOOP DOGG and met David Beckham! The other members of the group are Miz Korona, Khary Kimani Turner and Richie the Robot. This is their 2nd tour. Their first one was in India now they are going to multiple countries. Thanks for reading!

Taylor Swift just did a huge world tour. It started on May 17 to July 26. A few weeks ago. She started 1989 Taylor’s Version album. Taylor is rerecording all of her albums. Some of the albums are: Speak Now & Fearless. Speaking of new, she is releasing a new movie. The movie is about her Eras tour. It comes out in October. As everyone is excited that Taylor Swift does have a new boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Everybody is buying his football jerseys, especially Taylor. Travis currently plays for the Chiefs football team. Everyone wants to buy his jerseys mainly because he’s Taylors boyfriend. Taylor used to be engaged with Joe Alwyn for 5 years. As you know Travis plays for the Chiefs, they are the Super Bowl champs. Recently the Detroit Lions beat the Super Bowl champs!!!

METALLICA WORLD TOUR

Hello. I have been a very big Metallica fan since I was three. I used to sit in the backseat of the car and sing along to “METAL MILITIA!” When I was three years old. I am Very excited to see them coming to Detroit so I can see them live. I have been wanting this moment my whole life. My Dad Bought me tickets for this Christmas best present ever! The concert will have two nights, one short and one long Friday and Sunday November 10th and 12th of 2023. Friday will be the long night where they play all your favorite songs from your favorite albums. Sunday Will have the band play all their new songs from the album 72 Seasons! *If you have not listened to 72 Seasons yet, I really recommend it!* Both concerts will take place at ford field in downtown detroit. You might know that place because that’s where the lions play now after they demolished the silver dome. I don’t know if any other stage four students will be able to relate to this but I do think most adults will be able to relate. I am very excited for this concert and I hope fellow Metallica fans will be there if they can!

The New Up And Coming Band! The Heavy Metal Homies

The Heavy Metal Homies Is an Up and Coming Band that Was created by

David G., Drexel L., Xavier V. and Everett H.

They later on recruited Sagan F. as the band’s Keyboardist.

David is their singer, Xavier is their drummer, Drexel is their Guitarist and Everett is their Bass Guitarist.

The band does not have any current songs released but there is an album in the works. Drexel is doing a design for the logo of the band and the rest of the band is making posters. David is doing great on lyrics and I hope we can have the album soon! Before we get the album out most likely we will be giving out free cds of our first song. David has been writing lyrics while the rest of the band is practicing and jamming out! The band is probably not getting any fame soon but we would like to when we have some songs out.

Here is a little teaser.

First release will be a single, Second will be single, Third will be single And fourth will be an album!

“Black Bottom Collective” is a band that was started by Roeper parents Khary and Tunesia Turner. There were 8 people in the band. Their first show was on Woodward Ave in front of a record store. They started it in 1999. The band started because of a poetry book made by one of the Roeper parents. They were inspired and named the band “Black Bottom Collective”. They did Hip Hop Music.
