Trump Cuts Funds for Libraries and Museums.

By Jonathan S.

On March 14th, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to cut funding to libraries and museums by shrinking the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) as much as legally possible. The reasoning behind all of this is to “save money.” This, however, is somewhat pointless as the percentage of the money being saved in just .003% of the federal budget. All of this could cause museums in Washington DC (lets face it, that’s a lot of museums) and around the country to have to charge more admission or have fewer things to share with the public. Damaged books in libraries may never be replaced and libraries may close or cut back on hours and programming. The American Library Association said “It will have an enormous impact in communities nationwide.”

Thomas and Friends Celebrates 80th Anniversary with Exciting New Releases

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Thomas and Friends, a franchise that began as a bedtime story in 1942. Reverend W. Awdry created Thomas the Tank Engine to entertain his sick son, Christopher, sparking the creation of a beloved series that has since captivated generations worldwide. Christopher Awdry later continued his father’s legacy, expanding the Thomas universe.

To celebrate this milestone, Bachmann Trains is releasing new special-edition models of the iconic characters, including limited-anniversary versions and potentially rare engines previously unavailable. These high-quality models have long been a favorite of collectors and fans, and this release promises to continue that tradition with exclusive packaging and new designs.

In addition to the model trains, fans can expect new episodes, special events, and commemorative books to honor Thomas’ long-lasting impact on children’s entertainment. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a newcomer to the world of Sodor, the 80th anniversary is a perfect time to celebrate the blue engine’s enduring legacy.
