By Nyela

Lois Shulman was hired as a Stage II teacher on December 5. She’s Jennifer Allen’s team teacher. Lois was also a substitute teacher for six years at the Roeper School, both Lower and Upper School. She likes working with all the grades and says, “it is a gift and a blessing” to get to have this new role at Roeper. She loves being at Roeper because of the kindness of the teachers, students, and staff.

How we all know and love Lois we can get to know her more and better. Did you know she does not like chocolate, but she likes liver and onions and her daughter’s sourdough bread! She also likes to make corn bread. She also can be goofy, playful, and silly! She can stand on one leg for 30 seconds and she take nature walks every day outside.

Lois first found Roeper when she was driving past and saw the school way back when her kids were little, she was wondering what the domes were. Lois was a substitute teacher for 6yrs she started as a support teacher in Brenda and Elisabeths class 2020-2021 she was also a long-term substitute teacher in Kendra’s class 2021-2023 and she was hired in 2025.

She said that meeting the writer of this article and watching her grow and follow her dreams is special to her. Her favorite memories at Roeper are how she feels lifted up whenever she comes into the classroom. In conclusion, Lois is a fantastic teacher and we love her!
